How many people are celebrating Valentine's this weekend??
Re: Finally Friday!
We're not celebrating until next weekend since Wendi's wedding is tomorrow.
I finally figured out what to get Bill. He said he wanted a new Apple TV so that's what he'll be getting. Since I got my present early, I gave him his early. Next Saturday, we're going to some restaurant that he wants to try and staying at the Westin in the Galleria.
If you try to pull on the door to the bathroom, you know there's one stall, and the door won't open, why do you keep trying to open it and then knock on it. Obviously someone is in there.
Yea I think we are just doing something Tuesday night.
This happened to me the other day at La Madelines. I didn't understand if it's locked why you would knock.
Someone please post a picture from Wendi's wedding for those of us missing out!

Consider it done!
I am doing the "prep work" for Valentine's Day this weekend, lol. I need to make rice krispy treats and his present and I may or may not make a vanilla bean cheesecake- it will depend on how I feel.
This is random but how important is it to have your immunization record? I have not seen mine since middle school and I'm pretty sure my mom has it, or more likely *had* it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's ruined and lost forever. I'm not needing it right now or anything, the thought popped in my mind a few weeks ago and in the last week, I have seen 2 different threads about the person needing it.
Did you have a normal family physician? They should be able to get it for you.
Chelsea - That's definitely a day worth celebrating!

Love this!
We arent doing anything for vday except gifts, we set a $50 limit which is a first for us. I am still going over a little though. I decided to get him a concealed handgun course and there just so happens to be one on livingsocial today!
Julie, I made the sesame chicken last night and I thought it was really good. Matt thought it was not quite sweet enough but I reduced the amount of honey that the recipe called for.
I'm here. I'm working at my parents' house, because the internet at their store is down. Which means, I'm sitting at the dining room table and it's soooo quiet! Except for the windchime outside the window, which is already driving me crazy (I usually love them).
Deepthi, I didn't respond to you in the other post just yet. Lemme talk to J tonight, and then I'll let you know about hosting Feb. I'm thinking yes, but we'll have to see.
No. We had a normal family physician up until 1997 (6th grade) where I got the last MMR shot or whatever that's called and then I've been going to the same doctor since 2006 as an adult but never had to give them my shot records (not that I even could have) nor did I have to for college. I honestly don't recall going to a doctor between those years except for going to the county office for a tetanus shot my freshman year of high school. How long do they keep your records?
Thanks for letting me know! I love sesame chicken so I pinned that with great hope.
Chelsea,
FOR.E.VER!!!!!
Valentine's - DH asked me this morning what we're going to do. LOL I'm like nothing like last minute huh! I got his gift and gave it to him already too. He got tennis shoes this time. I'll still get him a card and maybe some cookies.
~What is something fun we could do around DFW? For past V-day's, we've gone to the Dallas Aquarium and Ripley's. So I'd like to do something fun again, if possible, but not necessary.
Chelsea - that's definitely an unforgettable Valentine's!!
ETA: I hate it when my computer/internet highjacks my posts on here!
It's normally 7 years, but if they went Electronic they might still have it. No harm in trying.
Amanda - Have you thought about the rodeo? Maybe some craft thing?
Angie - Thanks! Just let me know and we can do a "formal" announcement.

Julie - I think the full moon affects people in general!
I am baking brownies to take to J - they're his favorite dessert. They smell amazing. It's going to be funny to watch him & his dad fight over them, because his dad is always asking me to make him brownies. They both act like they're this amazing, complex recipe... nope, just my Aunt Betty's recipe (open box, add oil/egg/water, bake, enjoy).
That's what I liked about some of the stuff I made at Christmas. I know they looked complicated, etc, but most of them were actually very easy. I need to find something new to make. Maybe I'll try out the chicken sesame recipe Bobbileigh talked about.
I have seen it happening out in public but sometimes, the kids make it through without a lot of trouble. It's bad here this month though: yesterday, we had three kids get on the roof. No reason, just because.
Amanda, we always use V-day to try a new restaurant since we are such food lovers. We don't really get into it that much, we just have dinner and give each other cards. We are going out on the 18th.
I could host book club if no one else wants to. Or we could do the thing where we meet at a central restaurant or Starbucks or something. My old book club always meets at Barnes & Noble. Of course then, we can't have yummy food.
I hate that it is going to be freezing cold tomorrow, that's a bummer.
ETA: Yay Cheslea, that is so exciting! And Angie, so happy you get to see the hubby this weekend!

I do have a suggestion. Most La Madeline's have a private room that doesn't cost anything. I'm sure they would be willing to set it aside for you guys and then everyone could buy something if they wanted to. We've had several meetings for school stuff at the one in Grapevine before and got the room.
What restaurant are y'all trying?
I'm not a fan of the valentines day set menu's and I kind of feel like cattle being herded when going out to eat for valentines. We just do a nice dinner at home and go out to eat some other time.

Oh us too--we never go out on the actual day unless it happens to fall on a Saturday. We are trying a restaurant in Rockwall called Ava--it was actually voted Best New Restaurant of 2009 by D Magazine.

This is common even in College. When I was a RA we had a flood in our dorm and two kids had mannaged to get themselves in the middle of the overflow of water we had in the basement. The were just standing on chairs in the middle of the lower basement for no reason. We also had a couple boys who liked playing "throw the knife" game. Pretty self explanatory. I don't know what was going through their heads.

I just devoured quite possibly the most delicious sandwich EVER. I bought fresh bread from Bluebonnet Bakery in Fort Worth, and it MADE the sandwich. Holy cow that was good.
DH's birthday is a week before V-Day, so we normally don't anything over the top. We have a tradition that we stay in on V-Day, rent an old 80's movie and have pizza or make a nummy dinner. Pretty low-key but definitely something fun. Last year, I picked "Lover Boy" (With Patrick Dempsey), so it's DHs turn to pick this year. Can't wait to see what flick he chose!
I'm sorry, Jaymi. Things like that go on here all the time, and it never seems to get any easier. Hopefully leaving for lunch will improve things until the end of the day so that you can have a good weekend.
