Found Dog: ? on locating owners by rabies tag #
Good Moooooooorning ladies...Happy Friday!
Question...does the law record which animal is registered to a rabies tag number?
A coworker found a little dog with no name tag, but does have a rabies tag #...is there somewhere we can call to try to see if we can locate the owners by just the rabies tag?
Re: Found Dog: ? on locating owners by rabies tag #
Also, she should bring the stray to any vet office and ask them to scan him/her for a microchip.

It looks like it is breeder information, but no number, just the name of a the facility.
I will google them and try to start there since she won't be able to bring the pup to the vet to get scanned until after work...thanks ladies!

Exactly my thought! A rabies tag will have the clinic or hospital name and phone number, year the vaccine was given as well as the rabies tag # on it. It will look something like this (could be different shape or color obviously).
Has your friend called the city police and animal control to check if anyone has reported a missing dog? I would do that today and then after work run the dog to ANY vet office to have them scan the dog for a chip. Make sure they scan the whole body, not just between the shoulder blades as sometimes the chips move.
