Apartment life with plants???
Me and my DH live in an apartment on the third floor. We have a little patio with flower boxes that hang off but was looking for some ideas to make it even more homey and decorative with flowers. Kind of like a little backyard escape 
Any ideas???

I live in WI (Zone 4b) and have a north facing apartment balcony that (in the summer) gets about 6-7 hours of direct/indirect sunlight daily.
My 2 things that I absolutely love in my balcony pots are cardinal vines (attract butterflies and hummingbirds)
and Nasturtiums (the flowers are edible with a peppery flavor and honey nectar in the bottom of the flower- they're great in salads!).
Both of these can be bought really inexpensively in seed form and they go crazy when they're happy making a big draping, vibrant color palate of reds, yellows, and oranges.
