I was just chewed out by a parent
who childs name is LaDasha but they spell it Le-A. Well hell I pronounced it LeA. She told me the - is not silent!!! What in the world was she thinking naming that poor child that!
Re: I was just chewed out by a parent
Did you post something on this name a few weeks ago? Maybe it was on another board? Maybe on going crazy? lol
But yes, I feel sorry for the poor child. Sometimes parents need to stop and think about what they'll have to go through.
But here's a thought...why not spell it the way it's pronounced?? Novel concept.
NO this just happened less than an hour ago. I have never heard of this poor child until today.
I got a chain email about that name a few weeks ago
Here's the link to the snopes page bethany mentioned:
http://www.snopes.com/racial/language/le-a.asp
It's actually sort of a racial joke...
Well, it is sad that this parent actually named her child that.
Me either
Me either!
After I read the snopes page, I realized that I also got an email a few weeks ago. I'm either going crazy or getting old.
I'm so confused... LaDasha, but goes by Le-A but the "-" is silent so it's pronounced "lee"???
I feel sorry for the kid already.
