I was researching child support laws in the state I now live in, which was not the state I got divorced in and ran across the "grounds for divorce" in this state. There are 12, which include my favorite:
"idiocy at the time of marriage, if the party complaining did not know of such infirmity"
Yes, judge, I married an idiot and I didn't know it. Seriously? And this must be a big enough problem to write it into the law? Wow
Honorable mention grounds include:
Pregnancy of the wife by another person at the time of the marriage, if the husband did not know of such pregnancy.
Either party may have a divorce if they be related to each other within the degrees of kindred between whom marriage is prohibited by law. (yes, if "they be related")
Incurable insanity.
Habitual drunkenness.
