Recommend your composter here

DH and I just bought our first house and we finally have the space for a garden. I want to start composting and was wondering what you ladies used? I've looked for composting classes in my area and know they had them years ago but they don't seem to offer them anymore

my 2 cents: Contact your county extension office--they should be able to put you in contact with composting-knowledgeable people (like master composters) :-)  A friend helped me build my composter (a big rubbermaid with some nail holes punched in the bottom for drainage), if you want more details on building your own let me know.  Otherwise, one thing I was told about tumblers is that cheaper is usually (surprisingly) better and to make sure the hole is wide enough you can still turn the compost manually each week, since tumbling alone won't make it heat up as quickly.

If I don't say it in that post, I got the compost bin at a discount through the town, so definitely check there.

I contacted my town and they're not offering any classes this year. Nor the local college. Boo! Thanks for the suggestions!
