impetigo ?? anyone ever deal with it

not sure but i think my dd has it- she has been rubbing her nose with a tissue for a few days and it was really red.  she refused to let me put cream on it.   i would sneak it at bed time.  well today she woke up with a  few little pimples around her mouth that she says are itchy.....  i put some antibotic cream i had on her face- all she does is scream and matter of fact is still crying about the cream on her face,  and all she wants to do is rub her nose--  alittle worried

I had when I was a kid--often.  Although my memory is a bit fuzzy, I do remember a strict regimen of peroxide, then Neosporin.  I don't specifically remember itching...I'm sure your ped will have better information than I do, but I just wanted to respond to tell you that I think you're on the right track.

All the time as a kid. Any antibiotic ointment. It is highly contagious. I had to be kept out of school whenever I had it.

My son had it last year when his eczema got infected. We were prescribed an antibiotic ointment. Gone in a few days

I had it when I was young. I don't remember how it started but I do remember the yellow oozy stuff and scabbing. It lasted for at least a couple of weeks because it took a bit for the lesions to dry up and finally heal. It looks horrible.
