Why do people steal pens? I buy my own pens for work, I like writing in blue, but black is cheaper from the office supplier, so thats what is provided. I buy cheap papermate ones, $.50 for a 12 pack from Wal-Mart. I go through about two packs a month!!!! People steal them all the time! Half the time I notice them put it in a pocket, or purse but I am too chicken to say anything in fear of embarassing them.
Honest, would you say anything, or suck it up and buy more pens
Re: WWYD: Pen Stealers
I used to buy sparkly pencils, my old job years ago - it was way easier to do some of the work in pencil. That way I was always sure who was stealing my pencils.
I'd say it just kinda a part of life, but it's annoying
you could start making them look like pretty flowers...that way you'll know if one goes missing and who takes it because it's a pain to get all of that floral tape off or make your company buy them....that's what I learned to do
I am a pen stealer. And a huge pen loser. I go through anywhere from 2-5 pens a day, picking up, leaving them, losing them, picking more up. I would go to work with 2-3 in my pocket and lose some or all in the course of a day.
What I have started to do is bring in silly pens. I dont lose them, and I dont have any trouble locating in my pocket, and no one takes the silly pens..Right now I have a killer whale (looks like a whale) pen that lights up with a blinky red light and makes whale sounds when the fin is pressed. NO ONE takes my pen. NO one else would be SEEN with my pen. And it makes me a reformed pen stealer, kinda.
And when I did/do steal pens, its absolutely not intentional, I totally forget! Im the chick at the bank that you see hoofing it back in to return the pen. No wonder they usually have strings attached. And I think you should call them on it. BC I bet they really dont mean to do it either:)
