Surprise company - dinner ideas?
I just found out a friend of Dh's family is coming to town tonight and will be dining with us. Since the burgers I had planned aren't really a "company" kind of meal, I was looking for something with more of a wow factor but about the same effort level as burgers.
Any ideas? What's your go-to dinner for company? Thanks!

Are you still trying to use the ground beef? If you make a nice meat sauce a lasagna is easy enough to whip up, toss in salad and garlic bread and voila - company dinner.

I was trying to salvage the ground beef and since it was a surprise visit, I went ahead with the burgers. I also served grilled asparagus and baked sweet potato fries so even if he didn't like it, the rest of us did!
