Thought I would share some pictures from our beachy weekend here in sunny and unseasonably warm central CA! Chessie LOVES the beach - this beach is by a monarch butterfly preserve, and she was so good walking through quietly without scaring the butterflies or other animals. She was so quiet that a trio of baby rabbits felt comfortable coming out of the brush onto the path to eat even though we were standing with Chessie less than 10 ft. away!
She even went off-leash for the first time in "public" (it was totally deserted). The ocean is on one side of the beach and the cliffs are on the other, so the only place to go was up and down the beach. She ran for hours exploring. The charming creature you see in her mouth in these photos is a (dead!) sea urchin.

5 cats. 1 baby.
Looks like a fantastic day! I love the last picture... beautiful sea (it looks like sky almost)!
Hope spring comes our way soon; Lucy misses her beach days
!
Oh so jealous! Of the nice weather And the beach! Cooper loves the lake, but he's never been to the ocean (which I am obsessed with!) we're dying to take him! We're planning a trip next year to do so!
Chessie looks like she had a blast! I bet you enjoyed a nice quiet evening when you got home!

Thanks, everyone! She definitely looooves being at the beach, and warm weather in general. I am from the East Coast, so even after three years here in CA it is hard for me to get used to such beautiful winter weather!
Unfortunately (well, fortunately, sort of) we're moving so I can start graduate school next year. So far I've only heard back from Columbia, so I know we'll be moving *someplace* and that place could very well be NYC - talk about cold! The other two options I'm waiting to hear back from are in Boston and Michigan, so we're all going to have to adjust our winter weather expectations juuuust a bit going forward.
