Any creative meal ideas for using up stuff in the house?
I am going to skip grocery shopping this week. We have enough of the essentials and I want to use up stuff in the freezer / panty. I have sauce frozen so pasta will be on the menu one night. I also have what I need to make this:
Broccoli and Sausage Cavatelli
Also thinking about shrimp fried rice to use up some frozen/canned veggies.
Any other creative ideas?

Depends on what you have...I have a bunch of those types of recipes in my blog (and I'll be doing the same thing this week)
Here are a few ideas:
Black Bean & Salsa Soup
Beef Minestrone Soup
Cheater's Chicken Enchilada Casserole
Kitchen Sink Orzo Salad
Pasta with Poached Egg & Peas
Veggie "Lasagna"
pizza, using whatever you have for toppings (I have recipes for oven baked and grilled)
same with panini -

My mom used to make refrigerator pasta which meant she made pasta and threw in whatever she had. So if she had some chicken breasts, carrots, broccoli and peppers thats what was in the pasta and next week it might have been carrots, peas, tomatoes and cauliflower. She would also make as salad and toss in whatever extra veggies she could. Minestrone or veggie soup would use up lots of produce.
But it all depends on whats actually in your fridge to work with.
What do you have in the house?
Quiche was usually a pretty easy way to use up leftovers - whatever you have already cooked, especially veggies, is usually easy to throw together w/ eggs, milk, and cheese.
Breakfast for dinner is another easy meal.
Let us know what you have and we can probably come up with more ideas.
i posted this a while back:
a friend of mine just posted this on facebook and i immediately thought of the nesties! you click the items you have on hand and it generates a bunch of recipes for meal options!
