Re: nordstrom alterations?

  • I want to say it's $10 for basic hem, free if you purchased them there full price, and $20 for original hem. Though honestly, unless I'm using my (now free) Nordstrom alternation allocation, I always go to my dry cleaner for basic alterations. He's awesome, and slightly cheaper. He's also great because he'll tell me if I actually need the original hem or not for the pants to look right. Though, I have always been happy with Nordstrom alterations, too.
  • i usually go to the dry cleaner too, but my old guy is not far but kinda far.. and he was like $20. so i just wondered if they were cheaper.

  • I think Nordstrom raised their prices. It's like $25 for an original hem now. But they do do a good job.

Sarack, who are you using for alterations? I have to drive to Bellevue for my dude and I really like his work, but it's not always convenient.

i usually use this guy in kent at a laundrymat/dry cleaning place. he's always done a good job but i just want them to be done. Bellevue wouldn't be that bad for me considering i work there now. :) i just want these two pairs hemmed asap so i can wear them comfortably.. and although i did my hem myself last time, it looked HORRIBLE after a while and i'd rather pay for something that will stay.

  • Yeah, it's free if you purchase them there and ask them to do it that day (I think, don't quote me), otherwise they charge you a nominal fee. Their tailors are really good.
