How do you keep baby warm after bath??

Stupid question, but I dread bath time since she screams afterwards. I wrap her up in a huge towel and then switch it to a dry towel, she still cries and cries. :-(

  • Brian cranks the heat. I don't do bath. I HATE it more than anything. It's always been his thing.

  • I hate bath time too...I just crank the heat up for a little bit & then get them dressed asap.

  • I just did it myself and I just haul a$$ once I get her out of the water. I could turn on the space heater in her room, but even with putting lotion on she's not undressed too long.  When I have Scott's help he can sometimes distract her and make her laugh, but it doesn't always work.  Even Teagan was practically crying tonight getting out of the shower b/c she was cold. It wasn't pretty tonight, lol.

  • I always dried him quickly - arms and head first while wrapped in a hooded towel while I held him close - and then wrapped him upon a hooded terry robe while I did his legs and butt. I don't remember him crying much so I guess it worked for us!

  • i try to go as fast as i can. i usually crank the heat in his room, and then keep the towel around him and lotion / diaper / onesie as fast as possible and put him in jammies. i blow dry his hair in the colder months just to give him a jump start on warming back up. if i let him play after bath and before bed, sometimes i put a sweatshirt on him, too. LOL

  • Urn up the heat.  We bathe her in the bathroom and I put blankets in the floor near the vent and she actually likes getting changed in the warm bathroom

  • I keep the door closed in the bathroom and the room stays nice and warm.  I'm trying to remember what we did before she was old enough for a robe and  drawing a blank. I think it was spring/summer when she was Anna's age so I guess it wasn't an issue.
  • When he was that age I did it in the sink (in the baby bath) and I would put the towel in the dryer. DH would grab it right before we took him out of the tub.

  • I always just used a towel to wrap around him and massaged his arms, legs, tummy, etc with it. We'd put the towel all around him--body, head. We always said that we wished that someone would do that to us. I was still doing that until fairly recently.
  • Distract her with crazy singing, it sounds nuts but it works for my niece!
