First: 3 Sons Restaurant in Arvada near 64th & Indiana. We went last night for MIL's birthday. Best Italian I've had in a really long time. It's nice, but not ultra dressy (I was in a sweater and black pants)
We had their Valentine's special for $20 which included soup/salad, entree, and dessert. We also ordered 2 apps: a plate of sausage & peppers and caprese salad, both were good.
MIL had house salad (nothing spectacular), and Macheronni Aglio with shrimp and liked it a lot. SFIL and I had the Portabella Soup and Stuffed Chicken Breast Florentine. I want to go back for it every single day. The soup was amazing - creamy, rich flavor. The chicken pasta was divine- "Filled with spinach, shallot, pernod & gruyere cheese, served with hand crafted macheronni & creamy piccata sauce."
DH had the soup, New York Strip with whipped potatoes, tourne vegetables & red wine glaze. I tasted the potatoes, and they had a deep flavor, and DH said the steak was very tender. Little G had noodles with homemade cheese sauce and a fresh fruit bowl (apple sticks, grapes, strawberries) for $5.
We all had the "Death by Chocolate Cake" with a raspberry sauce that was yummy. They had a lady sing Happy Birthday to MIL in Italian and she was talented.
Second: Pinnacle Vodka, Chocolate Whipped flavor. Bought this on a whim at the liquor store, for about $12. Tossed it in the freezer, and it might be my new favorite drink. It tastes almost like a chocolate martini, just by itself. I may or may not have had 3 of them since about 4pm today. (It was needed)
Re: Rave(s): 3 Sons & Pinnacle Vodka
Now I really want italian food! I havn't been since they moved from 44th and fed but have wanted to. Happy to hear they are just as yummy over here.
