Once Upon a Time (2/12)- Spoilers
What did everyone think about Beauty and the Beast? I was so confused why Belle wasn't in Storybrooke, and then I saw her holed up at the end. I really liked how the Mayor and Mr. Gold used their real names in Storybrooke. Thoughts on the episode?

Re: Once Upon a Time (2/12)- Spoilers
my read shelf:
I loved how they incorporated Belle into Storybrook! I was hoping that Emma had a tape recorder or something that she switched on when she and Henry walked out of the sheriff's office, but I doubt it. If she did, she would have caught them using their real names.
ETA: So does this mean that if Mr. Gold and the girl locked in the hospital reunite, still love each other and kiss, the curse over Storybrook would be lifted?!
I thought the Queen saying that a true love kiss would break any curse was misleading because then wouldn't Prince Charming and Snow's kisses in Storybrooke break the spell?
It could be that curses that are only specific to a person can be cured by true love's kiss - which would explain Snow being revived by the Prince and Rumple seemingly returning to normal, before pulling away.
The curse over Storybrooke involves everyone, so I think it will require a joint effort to reverse.

That's a great thought. I wonder how they can pull it off.

I love the way they weave all the fairy tales into one big story. The writers do such a great job!
Remind me, is there a reason the Prince feels like he can't leave Kathryn?
yeah- I don't get this at all. if he loves Snow wtf is his problem? I am liking the storyline/ him less and less the more they drag it out and make him a slimeball
Sort of agree. Cinderella is with her man, Hansel and Gretel are with their poppa, and still nothing. I still think they're setting Emma to be a sort of sacrificial lamb but the community will rally together to save her just as they did in the fairy tale world and when they succeed, everyone will remember.
That's probably totally off-base, but it's what I'm going with for now. lol.
Also, if the Queen knew that a curse can be broken with true loves kiss, why was she surprised by it when Charming woke Snow?
Anyone notice how the place where Belle is locked up in Storybrooke had characters resembling "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"? Nurse Ratchett (the nurse who took the rose from the mayor) and the Native American (who was sweeping in the hallway)....
This was a very interesting episode.
I really enjoyed this episode a lot. Loved the Chip reference, and Rumple confirming what I have long suspected that he knows the secret.
I officially hate David. He is a mega jerk. I have no idea how they plan to redeem him from this whole double life thing to make me want them to be together, but I have a feeling it isn't going to work. At least MM cut him off.
Rumple is my favorite character so far. I think it is interesting that even in fairy tale land, he didn't get a happy ending. Maybe that is the key to breaking the curse?
LOVED this episode. I don't know how I'm going to be able to wait for the next episode.
I think it's interesting how the characters are dressing and kind of following the Disney version a bit, as far as costume's and names go.
Wasn't the point of the queen telling Belle about true loves kiss for her to kiss him, thus break the spell that's on him which gives him all his power?
Also, have the queen and rumple just been living in Storybrooke all this time not knowing who each other are? I was a bit confused by the ending. And does the queen not realize Emma is Snow's daughter?
I think Gold knows much more than Regina. He knew who she was, but she didn't know who he was. Regina doesn't know who Emma is, but Gold does. I'm pretty sure he knows almost everything, except where Belle is.

When the Queen came to visit Rumple at his house toward the end of the show, she wanted to make a deal to take care of a Little Mermaid! Did anyone else catch that?
see more funny videos, and check out our Yo Dawg lols!
Mickey's sorcerer's hat was on one of the tables in Rumple's house!
My take is: both the queen and Rumple know everything. He knew she knew, but she only suspected he knew; hence why she made him say his fairy tale name. It was her way of confirming he knew the score. Now she will be much more wary of him.
I thought the EXACT same thing!
There was also a lamp (which has me a bit confused since we saw the genie last episode), a bow and arrow and some kind of hatchet looking thing in the begining of the episode, and at the end only the hatchet remained. I wonder if that has anything to do with anything or if it was just a sooting error.

This thread is getting so loaded I don't know where to start, bc I could comment on almost every post.
I have been wondering about the Disney interpretations as well. I can't say that I've actually read or know much about the original stories, but I would really like to know how much is true to the originals. The only reason I can think that they took such a dead on Disney approach is that ABC is a Disney partner.
About the jail scene between Mr. Gold and Regina at the end, I came away with the conclusion that they both were kind of all-knowing about what was going on as far as Fairytale vs. Real World. But isn't there something in the Rumplestiltskin fairytale about him saying his name? I was thinking that's why she made him say it aloud...???
Also, I wasn't sure what to think about the Belle in the cell in the hospital. I didn't pick up the Cuckoo's Nest and it's been too long since I watched it, but there was something odd about those characters mentioned. The nurse was definitely dressed differently and they lingered on both characters as if to let you try to start putting pieces together so...
I finally got to watch this last night! Yes, in the original fairy tale, I *believe* the only way that people could get out of a deal that they made w/ Rumple was to find out what his real name was. I think that's right, but someone correct me if not.
I thought the episode was good, but I didn't really feel the chemistry between Belle and Rumple. I don't know, for me it was kind of awkward to watch.
David definitely needs to get rid of his wife if he wants to be with MM, how bad was that giving her the wrong Vday card?
I just watched this episode yesterday and bloody loved it!! The last 15 minutes were fantastic!
But I do agree with the belle/rumple chemistry, it could have been better. But I also think The actress (Emilie de something) is not that great of an actress.
I think Rumple knows everything about both worlds. And I think the Queen knows almost everything, she obviously didn't know who rumple was and his little "please" thing. i wonder how Regina is planning on keeping Gold beind bars.
Looks like David/Charming might being making a big decision tonight....I hope he's leaving Katherine.
