Can you force a banana to overrippen?
I want to make banana bread and I'm too impatient to wait for bananas to get to the point where they are good for bread. Can I artificially speed the process?
(Actually I have one banana ready but I need several others from the new bunch)
Re: Can you force a banana to overrippen?
lol. MH is going to come home and ask why the apples and bananas are in a brown bag in the microwave. He's going to think I've lost my mind!
Let us know if it works!
If you are really in a rush and do not want to wait for the apple/paper bag (which works great) you can also put the banana in the oven at 300 degrees or so. The skin will turn black and it will get mushy and ripe.
I did this for banana muffins a little while back.
