First off, thank you for your kind thoughts and support. it was very reassuring to me.
Backstory for those that mentioned that maybe the problem was DH, or that they woudl try less invasive methods before IVF, I have stage 4 endometriosis, and had a laparotomy a year and a half ago in which one fallopian tube has been removed and the other is probably not usable. My Ob had already been pushing IVF when we started TTC because our chances on our own are slim to none, and if we did the conceive, the risk of ectopic is very high.
So the RE pretty much gave us the same feedback as my Ob and we've started the diagnostics to have a full work up. They took a lot of blood. The ultrasound also shows ovarian cysts on both sides that we'll need to monitor. The HSG next month will determine the state of the remaining tube but with the endo, she was also in favor of IVF in general. They're not ruling out DH either, he's getting a few tests done, but relatively speaking, he's got the much less invasive tasks. :-P
I feel like it was helpful to get the run down of the tests coming up over the next couple weeks, but it wasn't an incredibly informative visit. I'm guessing once they've done the tests, then we'd sit down to a more thorough consultation of our options and the procedures involved. For what it's worth, we're using IVF NJ.
