How was your weekend?

What did you do? What is/was your reaction to Whitney Houston's death?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • We ran errands, did chores, unpacked boxes.  Nothing remotely interesting occurred.

My reaction to Whitney's death was: meh.

    This is my siggy.
  • My weekend wasn't exciting.  Just did wine and a movie Saturday night, did a lot of cooking/baking and stocked up on produce at Sam's Club.

My autobiography would be pretty boring! LOL

I figured it was just a matter of time before Whitney pushed herself over the edge.  I didn't feel the shock that the media expects everyone to feel about her early death.

  • We did some wine tasting and not a whole lot of anything yesterday. It was a pretty boring weekend for us as well.

I was surprised to hear about Whitney, although not totally surprised after the intial what??!

  • My weekend was really good, but I'm already about to fling myself out a window, only 3 hours into the work week. Last night I actually dreamed about one of the hellacious reports I knew was waiting for me today and woke up wishing I was sick or had some legit reason to call out.

Friday night we went out for our Valentine/anniversary date and it was sooo good! (http://hugos.net/main.html)  Really delicious food and a nice atmosphere. Sunday morning I went to two yoga classes taught by friends (one of whom was BBE), then breakfast with a few of the girls and then did some exploring with Mr. Bang and the little dude.

RE: Whitney, I wasn't surprised, really. She's been a hot mess for years. It's really a shame.

  • Hola.

The weekend was good.  Had a Vday dinner at a really delicious restaurant (the filet was like butter).  Went to a casino and lost moneys.

I was only shocked about Whitney's death when I read that she was only in her late 40's.  Wayyyy too young.

    Look with your special eyes.
  • We stayed in all weekend because it's f**king cold. We did whatever we could to warm each other up and then we decorated cookies for my parents for Valentine's day. Some of them actually turned out pretty good.
I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns
  • Weekend was busy, but nothing exciting to report. lol.

Did a TON of things around the house, ran a bunch of errands, and had a lazy Sunday. Cant really complain.

Whitney's death - Im pretty "meh" about it. Maybe my opinion is flame worthy, but I dont necessarily feel sorry for her, nor do I feel she was the greatest gift to us, I dont get the need to elevate celebrities to god like status. I understand the mechanics of addiction in that it is a disease, but the other part of me feels like she should have busted her @ss 10x harder to get it together because she's a mom, and she needs to be here for her daughter. Then there's the whole waste of talent and throwing away all the blessings and opportunity she had, and well - its a mixed bag of opinion. I think I feel worse for her daughter who lost a mom so young. What a shame.
