Weekend PIPs

If you haven't posted yet, lets see what you did this weekend!

Here is my weekend of sewing goodness (not shown are jewelry and the glue gun things).  I did a lot!

I finished my pirate scarves.  I made 2 dozen of these for our group.  The cruise is having pirate night!  This took me 3 weekends to finish.

DH's pirate costume.  Note, this just some minor modifications of one of my very first sewing projects about 8 years ago.  Its not the best, but it was cheaper and easier to fix what we had rather than start from scratch.  It amazed me looking at the seams, what on earth was I thinking then?  lol

The cruise also had a mardi gras them night.  I made this mask with a pattern from Urban Threads, and then blinged it out a bit with heat set crystals.  Also, I found this ugly lump of a purple dress at the thrift store.  It was the perfect purple!  I wanted to actually fit the dress, but I'm still working on learning to fit my girls, so instead I just went tying it in the back.  I used the material I cut from the sleeves to belt it in the back.  I had some ugly buttons that matched the ones on the front, so I added some button holes instead of tying with a bow or d-rings.

Re: Weekend PIPs

  • Nice!  I made a hat for my dad (but didn't take a picture of it.)  This is the same pattern that I made for DH (now my dad, both brothers, and DH have this hat in different colors).  My dad's is a dark brown.

  • Nice job on all your projects!

    I love that mask, RubyTues.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

I'm halfway done quilting the metro quilt!  (ps- this is what it looks like when you try to quilt a queen sized quilt on a tiny machine, ridiculous.)

  • Maryandkirk0909 - great job!  I pieced a crib sized quilt about 4 years ago, basted it, and sewed one quilting line through it before I gave up.  Its folded in a box right now, no idea what to do with it.

Note the lack of kid tickets in my posts.  It makes it a heck of a lot easier to find crafting time :)

  • RubyTues - I love that mask!

maryandkirk - the quilt is beautiful!

I finished a Disney autograph book last week (well, I made 3 but shipped the other 2 before I could take a picture). I'm loving my new bind it all.
