I finally made a decision and I will be staying at my current job at the hospital. When I called the other place to let them know what I decided, he was happy for me that my current employer really stepped up to keep me, etc. I felt bad having to turn them down (I have never had to do that), but I think it was the best decision for me right now.
The cool thing is that about 5 minutes after I got off the phone with the director from the out patient place - he actually called me back to offer a PRN (as needed) position. So, in a way I kind of get the best of both worlds. It's definitely nice to know that I didn't burn any bridges with them.
Re: Job update
Sorry I fell asleep during our text convo last night...
I'm really happy for you that you're getting everything you asked for. You deserve it more than anyone I know.
LOL, it's all good. I was not far behind you. Last week and this weekend were exhausting for me with all of this...I think last night was my first restful sleep in a few days.
So, I start that PRN deal tomorrow. PRN = even more money than a regular employee. So for those hours I work there, I will be making about 45% more than the rate I was getting at the hospital (before the raise they are giving me starting today). It will be a nice to have extra cash during all this stuff going on with our house, etc.
I will probably work 7-11 or 8-11a there a couple of days a week this week and next. And then in a couple of weeks the main MRI guy is going on vacation so I will probably work more days while he is gone. They made it very clear that they don't want to overwork me or that I don't get burnt out. So that's cool that they are keeping that in mind. And I can always say no if I don't want to work or can't work
The director thanked me a ton of times. So I'm happy that even though I felt bad for turning down their offer - I am still helping them out quite a bit.
That's awesome so glad it sounds like it worked out all around (getting the PRN thing even though you turned them down, etc!)
Big yay! for raises
That deserves a celebration. I'm so glad it all worked out!
I didn't get to respond to your last post but I'm glad you made a decision that you're happy with. It sounds like things ended up working out really well!
Look at you, you little hot commodity!

That is fantastic that it has worked out for you with an as needed position AND that your current employer really stepped up.
I am also glad that the person at the out patient place was so understanding - that would tell me that he would be a fantastic person to work for... someone who can be happy for you and what is going to be best for you instead of being focused on filling a position.
I hope things keep going so well for you!!
