I was reading an NPR article recap of the Grammy's and this little part pissed me off:
The presence of singer Chris Brown ? for a pair of performances and an award for Best R&B Album ? earned the ire of some viewers. Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna on the night before the Grammys in 2009, and has not appeared at the awards since, but Brown's profile has risen and Grammy Executive Producer Ken Erlich told ABC News last week that it was time for him to return to the show: "I think people deserve a second chance, you know. If you'll note, he has not been on the Grammys for the past few years, and it may have taken us awhile to kind of get over the fact that we were the victim of what happened."
Um, am I wrong in being peeved that the Exec. Producter for ABC feels like he was the victim?! The Grammy's weren't the victims...they may have felt some of the negative backlash for awarding a performer accolades at the same time he was beating-the-sh!t out of his girlfriend, but they were not the victims!
Poor choice of words Ken Erlich at ABC. I hope you send an apology to Rihanna for acting the "victim" in the media.
Are you united with the CCOKCs?
Re: Vent about Grammy Article
I completely agree. I am so over celebs, athletes, whatever and their second chances. If you do that as an average joe in society, you're going to struggle to find work the rest of your life with a conviction on your record (as I feel it should be).
Did you see this? http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/horrible-reactions-to-chris-brown-at-the-grammys
Now THAT makes me sick. I've never been in an abusive relationship, but even so I could never imagine thinking that saying something like that would be even remotely funny.
Katie Talks About...
Whoa. Those girls need some serious help.
Erlich needs to get a clue.
