Gall Bladder "support group" - updated

My weekend was supposed to be fun with my siblings here.. well not so much. I ended up having another gall bladder attack early yesterday morning, at about 3 a.m. , but it just wouldn't go away. I spent most of my day in pain, until finally at 4 p.m. I told H that I just couldn't do it anymore. We ended up in the emergency where they gave me some medication for the pain and nausea.

I also found out that from the results of my u/s that I had last week that my gall bladder is filled with lots of little stones. At least now I know what it is exactly. Maybe a cleanse can help... we shall see!

Other than that now my right butt cheek is super sore thanks to the needle. But at least I got some good sleep after coming home!

So all in all not a fun way to spend a day when you have siblings over, but it is what it is. At least now I feel better. I'm also sticking to my diet more than ever, because I know that it was my own fault that I had an attack, because it was what I ate. I've just never had such a long drawn out attack before!

Update: So I just got back from my appointment with my Dr. There is apparently a medication that I can take that will break the gall stones up. Especially because my gall bladder still looks healthy, right now there is no need to even necessarily consider having surgery to take it out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this medication helps!

  • BC you have gallstones they may do surgery. Im not sure how it works when pregnant though. Whatever they suggest, please do. Im still in the hospital. Gallbladder removal turned into having a bile leak (which I figured out was the cause of my pain even after the removal) and a stent being placed in my liver to open up the bile duct. Im feeling much better and im waiting to see the surgeon to get discharged but it has all een such a sucky experience.

  • I have my GI referral for Thursday morning.  I have a numb/tingly right hand now -- evidently yet another possible symptom. Awesome.

Hope you both feel better soon!
