Anyone from Indiana?

I'm going to Rensselaer, IN next week for a training school and I'm curious as to what to expect weather & temperature wise.  We'll be mostly outside, working in cold barns with cattle so I'm trying to figure out what I need to pack. (Most importantly if I need insulated boots, or could I get away with wearing a couple pairs of socks in non-insulated ones).  TIA!

Re: Anyone from Indiana?

  • That's not far from me. We've had an abnormally warm winter. I think it really depends on the rain/snow forecast. You'll probably be fine with the non-insulated boots and a couple pairs of socks.

  • Thanks!  I see by the forecast that its above freezing.  That's warmer than here... gonna pack extra socks then!

  • That is about 2 hours north of me.  I was actually there on Saturday, it has been colder here the past 2 days, so it is winter but not cold brutal winter.  BTW- you are going to be in the middle of nowhere there, there isn't anything in that town really, so make sure you have all you will need.  I think they may have a walgreens and a walmart but that is about it.

    Exactly this.

You should be fine if you pack layers. I don't think insulated boots are necessary.

    Good luck with your trip.
