I have 2 today.
1. I went to a wedding Saturday. I had a few glasses of wine..and when I drink everyone is my BFF. I ended up inviting 2 couples (friends of the family) over for Sunday dinner next week. I only know this b/c my mom called to tell me that they called her to ask what they should bring. Not a big issue..but I am already having my family and my aunts family over...so I'll be feeding about 18 guests.whoops.
2. I brought in pulled pork for lunch today and everyone raved about it. I told them I made it....I didn't :-) (it was my recipe though...lol!)
Re: Confessions Anyone?
i faked a headache last night
i never do that, but i was tired and hungry and totally not in the mood LOL
My daughter will turn 14 the end of the month and we started talking about her Sweet 15, we are spanish so we do 15 instead of 16, we went to a sweet 15 on Friday so that prompted the conversation well, guess what? she doesn't want one I was shocked my mother was too.
my confession is, that I am a little upset she doesn't want one not devastated but upset, I was really looking forward to have her Quincea?era party
I see how that could be upsetting. It's one of those things, like a wedding, that parents dream about having for their kid(s). Who knows, though. There's always the chance of her changing her mind so I wouldn't totally count it out yet.
I'm sorry to hear that Whitney Houston died, but I really wish the woman a few cubes over would either stop playing the SAME Whitney song over and over and over again or put on some freaking headphones.
Actually, she has stopped. She is now on the phone talking about Whitney with whoever.
Sigh.
To spin off of that, I am sorry she passed as well, but I feel like, and maybe this is insenstive, that we shouldnt spend a whole awards show giving a tribute to someone who most likely died because she was doing drugs. What kind of example do we set for kids that watch? ~Its ok to do drugs if you are a celebrity and if you die we will pray for you and talk the whole nite about you~
They were celebrating her life and music, not her addiction. And as far as setting an example for kids, that's what parents and people they actually know and actually interact with regularly are for.
My sister invited my parents (from nc) to come visit again....they always stay at my place. now she wants them to stay at her place since she has a new place of her own. I'm a little jealous and want to say....But they ALWAYS stay with me. Don't take that away....
yes i know thats selfish! I can't help it!!
but either way as long as they come i'll be excited and i'll just have to stay over her place the entire time ha ha ha!
I'm so sorry. I had a few friends who had Quinceanera parties and I remember it being a really big thing for them. I'd be disappointed at losing that experience with her too!
My confession: I have two tweens even though they're only 2 and 4. Julia's favorite song is "Party in the USA" and Emma's is "Dancing Queen." Julia also just told me that the only "real" Lady Gaga song is "Bad Romance."
