WWND? Re Phone

On Friday I dropped my Droid in a parking lot and it shattered part of the screen, the top left corner with cracks down through a little farther. It looks like when a rock hits your windshield, I am assuming it hit a rock when I dropped it. The phone works fine and the touch screen works fine, it is just a little hard to read the very corner. The part that is damaged the most is outside the actual display.

I have the insurance that will replace it for a deductable, $99 I think. I called on Friday and made sure that I had the right insurance, but I don't know if I should file the claim.

Would you get it replaced right away or wait until it doesn't work anymore? Any pros/cons?

Has anyone gotten their phone replaced through this insurance? I have Verizon so it is whoever their company is.
