What's on Your Formal Dining Room Table
In terms of decor what is on your dining room table. Runner or Table cloth? Anything else like a bowl or candlesticks. Additionally, where do you liek to buy these items?
TIA
Re: What's on Your Formal Dining Room Table
When we aren't actively hosting anything, nothing. We have two kids.
When we are set up to host something, we have candlesticks or these vases filled with glass ball ornaments with the top part removed (so it looks like glass balls). Depends on our mood, number of people and quantity of food that needs to eventually go on the table.
Right now my sewing machine.....
However as soon as I finish with that I'll get a spring runner and find something to put on it thats springy.
Fall I had a red/orange/gold runner with some similar colored glass bottles w/ a dish in the center w/ (fake) gords/pine cones.
Holiday I had a red runner w/ a trifle dish filled with red, gold, green sparkly ornaments.
My runners I usually get at BBB the fall decor stuff I got from Christmas Tree Shop and the winter stuff I already owned/ornaments from those huge sets at home depot.
I always have a cream/white-ish table cloth on it.
I used to have flowers and/or candlesticks and/or something else decorative on it all the time, but, well, then I had kids.
*always remembering Annaleigh Lucy*
I have a beige table cloth and a tall light turqouise vase I got at Marshalls for $8.
Oh and no one ever goes in the dining room so I dont have to worry about them knocking it over. The dinign room is out of the way and gated off so Otto doesn't go up stairs.
I keep a table cloth on it all the time now since I can't risk matchbox cars and other toys scratching it. Before my son was a toddler I used to just keep a runner on it.
I try to keep piles of crap off of it- but what can you do.
LOL! Same for me. I have a pair of candlesticks and 2 runners though.
But it's our "catch all" fore everything...........
A runner and a hurricane glass vase with a candle filled with potpourri.

This was for Christmas, and everything was from Michael's. I recently swapped out the small ornaments for little river rocks that I got from Target.
