Do you think there's a market for this?

A few of my spa clients have asked me if I would ever do waxing at home. It would definitely be in my best interest to not have to split commissions & it wouldn't really be too expensive to start up but I'm wondering if it would be worth it. Would YOU want someone to come to your house to wax you? Do you think it would be easier for you or would you rather go to a salon? What would you expect to pay? For brows? Brazilians,etc?

I've never waxed anything but my brows, and I can't imagine that would be worth my $ (or your time) since it's so fast.  I think for sure, though, if I was waxing anything else.

Im not sure but I definitely think you would need to pay for insurance to protect yourself, ie:  burns, etc and that may offset the travel, etc. Plus how much extra would people pay for this luxury for a wax? Is it worth your time, gas, travel, mileage, scheduling, etc to make it worth it?

It may be more worth it if they get a wax with some other service at same time to up the cost and be worth your time.

My waxer does this. So I've been going to her house for a brazilian for like 3 yrs now vs going to the salon. She charges me $45 instead of the $55+20% tip I'd be paying at the salon and she can take me when I need to come. I love it. No trying to park at the spa (crazy parking situation). I prefer it. And I send all my friends.

I have been following the woman who does my eyebrows and the woman who does my Brazilian for the last 10 years. They have both changed salons multiple times and I would even follow them if they started working out of their homes. I would love for them to come to me. If they ever retire I will cry. Lol. Especially my eyebrow woman. She is amazing and I get compliments on my brows constantly.

Yeah, I was thinking about liability but that's pretty cheap so it doesn't weigh into it too much. That's what I'm trying to decide. It's cheap enough to get the stuff to do it "on the road" but do I really want to be driving all over the place for $50 here & there. I think I'm answering my own question.....

Absolutely.  I used to go to someone's house after the spa she was working in closed.  My neighbor has someone who comes to her house

Oh my gosh in a heartbeat I would do this!!!  You should see what my eyebrows look like, I can never get anywhere with the kids!

ETA: I just asked my DH what he thought and he said if it didn't cost extra he'd much rather have someone come to the house to wax him, lol.  He's had some patches on his back waxed before, but nothing else.... though i don't know if you would want to do it alone in a house with a man.

I would love someone that came to my house or even going to their house. I'd be more likely to get my legs waxed (in addition to brows, bikini)..

I go to my lady's house. She has a small room set up with a little table. She charges me $35 for brazilian and eye brows. She gets clients just from word of mouth.

No doubt. I had a good friend who worked at a spa and went to client's homes on the side if they asked. I loved it! I say go for it.

If I had someone willing to come to my house, I'd be thrilled. No drive time. No wait time, etc.is a huge appeal to me.

I would love it. Just the other day I told the woman I go to that I would love her to come to my house. I get Brazilian/lip/brow so it would be a good amount of services

yes!! ditto everyone.  i can barely get out of the house without the kids so i would be thrilled if someone could come to me-or i could go to them if i could bring the kids.  i'm way too far from you but i would LOVE this.

My SIL sort of does all this at her home.  She had run a salon with her mom but it became too much and now she has everything set up in her basement, wax table, facial steamer thingy and all stuff for hair including a shampoo chair that drains into their sub pump.  lol.  it works for me and she has been doing keratin treatments for people they know, including me which i'm due for now.
