MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
H and I will still do something "special" but not tomorrow! I don't think there should be a specific day where you should do something nice and/or romantic for each other. That should be everyday!
THIS! Thats the EXACT reason why I loathe V-day!! Well...I guess I can't loathe it, its also my nieces bday...so that makes it atleast a semi-tolerable day now!
I will be spending this Vday w/my very groggy puppy & having dinner w/the birthday girl (& her brother (my nephew), & my sister & her H), which will be fun. But if DH were in town, guarantee we wouldn't be doing a d@mn thing....well, prolly having dinner w/my sister & her family still, but you know what I mean.
I did sneak a Vday card & a Reeses pb cup heart into DH's suitcase since he's OOT...I wonder if he got me a card?? ::snort::
*sigh* MEN, right!?
I would LOVE flowers or chocolates any day but V-day...because on V-day it's "expected" I'd rather it be a surprise!
I think Cooper should be your Valentine!
Growing up, my mom made a huge deal about Valentine's Day. It's was a super special day- Vday pj's, heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, fuzzy socks, notes in our lunch boxes, little trinkets, etc. So I've always had a fondness for v-day, but not in the expensive, roses and chocolates and unreasonably high expectations. It was the little things that made it fun. I tried to carry that over with XH, but he squashed every effort I made.
Last year I moved into my new apartment as a single woman just before v-day. I'll likely just paint my toes and go to yoga tomorrow. Maybe get myself a cupcake....
Me too!
DH and I actually met the day after Valentines in line at a Starbucks (had a rare moment of braveness and started flirting with the guy behind me). We really don't celebrate but we'll do nice stuff for each other like make dinner or go out to dinner. He's working tonight so tomorrow we're getting Chinese takeout from our fave resturant and renting a Red Box movie probably Cowboys and Aliens or Rum Diaries.
*raises hand*
We've never done anything special for valentine's day. Two years ago when he was gone for 3 weeks working the winter olympics and I was alone on Valentine's day I was really upset for some reason, but I think it was more because I missed him a lot and everyone was lovey-dovey that day... not because we missed an important day.
I'm working all day anyway. I work at my FT job and then I leave here and go teach for 3 hours.

I'll take flowers or chocolates any day, including valentine's day.
V-day is a little overrated, though
::raises both hands::
Not a fan at all. We exchange cards because society says we must do SOMETHING, but that's the extent of it. At least I have no expectations because if I did love this holiday, I would be in big trouble considering the unromantic man I am married to!
H ordered me a V-day gift a couple of weeks ago (I know this because he was away when the box arrived, and he told me what he'd ordered was "none of my business," which was about the worst possible way to tell me not to worry about it, so I harrassed him until he told me it was my V-day gift.
I honestly didn't want us spending any money on that stuff. I hadn't given it any thought and just wanted to save the money. We're not going out to dinner and I haven't gotten him so much as a card (which I should probably do, if he got me a gift).
I also came to work to find a chocolate heart on my desk that says "Be My Valentine." Probably from my boss. It keeps beckoning to me to eat it, but the 5 (yeah...5) Girl Scout Samoa cookies (or Caramel Delites if you're going by their new name, pshh) I ate last night while folding laundry are helping me resist....for now.
