QOTD Tuesday

If you had a theme song/music (a la Ally McBeal), what would it be?

Re: QOTD Tuesday

  • I'm going to go with "Island in the Sun" by Weezer, though for some reason my BFF says she always thinks of me when she hears "I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones.  Paradise
  • I'm partial to the Mary Tyler Moore theme. Joan Jett does a great cover.

  • it probably changes as I go through different phases of  my life, but since the 70s, it's pretty much always been "Be Young, Be Foolish, But Be Happy," by the Tams. Like, I tried to figure out how to walk down the aisle to that song (had to go with Love Can Make You Happy by Mercy, which might be my B Side Song).

    "What is a week-end?"
  • This is really good question!  Well the song currently stuck in my head is "I'm sexy and I know it" but I don't think thats my theme song, just a bad ear worm.

I'm not good with song titles but the "I'm walking on sunshine" song would probably fit right now!

    Happy Valentine's Day Ladies!

  • Ooooo this one is hard!

Probably American Girl by Tom Petty.  Although, I guess rumor says it's about a girl who committed suicide, which isn't my case - but that song just makes me get up a dance, and everytime I hear it on the radio I blast it.

  • Probably Open Window by Eve6.  This is probably an embarrassing choice, but whenever I need a pick me up or whatever, that's the song I think of.  Probably b/c I associate it with a time in my life with a bunch of changes going on that I came out OK when the dust settled.

I actually have "high school soundtrack", "college soundtrack" and "grad school soundtrack" playlists.  I'm thinking about also doing a "first job/dating a lot/on my own soundtrack" that picks up the time between grad school & getting married.  It's crazy how songs can totally bring you back to a place or person, isn't it?

  • Probably Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac.

Although today it's Silly Love Songs, the Glee version from last year's Valentine's Day episode.

  • Hmmm, what a tough question! I'll pick Guster, "I Hope Tomorrow is Like Today." :)
  • Oooh, I haven't thought about this in a long time. Last I chose one it was "Suddenly I See" (KT Tunstall). I'll have to think some more today and see if I need to update it.

  • Mine would totally be "Goody Two Shoes" by Adam Ant.  Love that song!
  • Beautiful Day by U2 - it's about how life sucks sometimes, but you pick yourself up and try to appreciate the good things. I don't always follow that mindset, but I would like to!

  • "You Make My Dreams" by Hall & Oates.  One of my favorite dance sequences in a movie is from (500) Days of Summer to this song.  I can't not tap my toes or bop in my chair when that song is on.

  • this is so hard! and i agree that there are songs/soundtracks that i attach to a specific time in my life. i am going to go with take on me by a-ha because it is one of my favorite songs and one of my first memories of cool music videos from childhood.

  • The first song I thought of was "Just Another Manic Monday." Embarrassed I feel like most of it describes my life- rushing around in the mornings, don't know what to wear, etc.

Another good, more serious one is "I Hope you Dance" by Lee Ann Womack.

  • I feel like with my crazy hectic schedule lately and dealing with work, an almost 3 year old and another upcoming surgery for DH that Gnarls Barkely's 'Crazy' is appropriate :-)
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • My favorite song to belt out is "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, but I joke that "Outdoor Type" by the Lemonheads is my theme song (since the song is about someone who is definitely not outdoorsy).
