Hi! I just moved to from Gainesville to Alexandria in October and I am looking for a new salon. I have tried Circe in the past, but haven't been back since the stylist I liked left. Last month I went to Salon Amarti. The stylist was nice, but the haircut just ok.
I am not that picky when it comes to my hair, I just want to find a stylist who can cut my hair in a flattering haircut and isn't afraid to tell me that certain styles won't work with my face shape features, etc. I am willing to pay any amount if I can find someone who will do a decent job.
Can you recommend a salon and/or stylist?
Re: Salon Recs Alexandria
I have 2 recs for you- I like Melissa at Frizzle's (in Old Town by the PTO) a lot. Her haircuts start at $60- and if your hair is past your shoulders, she charges $75, which, if you're trying to maintain a style and your hair grows like mine does, is probably unsustainable to do monthly.
I went to Jeannie at Ulta in Springfield this weekend and am pleasantly surprised. She razor thinned my hair, which I really like and Melissa didn't feel comfortable doing, and her technique was great. She was joking that she's been doing hair longer than I've been alive, but recently came to the area so she's working her way up in the Ulta hierarchy of stylists, so a cut with her is really reasonable. They're doing a $30 cut and style til 2/29 if you're interested.
Stand up for something you believe in.
