Hi all,
We are looking to take a family vacation to the shore this summer, DD will be 7 months old by that time, and we were thinking about Ocean City, NJ. When I was younger, my family usually went to Lavallette, so I'm not at all familiar with Ocean City.
Any recs on where to stay? We'd like to get a condo so we can make most of our own meals (don't want to worry about where to take a baby). But not knowing the area, it's hard to know what part of town to stay in. We'd like to be on the beach if possible.
Thanks!

Re: Ocean City this summer
The North end of the town is the active "downtown" area. That's where the boardwalk is and lots of shops, restaurants, activities, etc. The board runs from from about 1st St to about 24th St but the shops, etc only run from 6th St to 14th St.
Once you get past around 20th St, it gets more residential with condos, etc. If you want really quiet, consider going all the way up to the 40s (the South end of town). The island is narrower and quieter up there. All condos up there are close to the beach. The island is wider in the North area so you may be several blocks from the beach depending on where you rent. If you stay on the South side of the town, you'll probably need to drive to the boardwalk though. Parking can be a bit of a pain when you drive to the boardwalk but it's definitely doable.
OC is definitely more of a condo vacation place but condos typically rent from Saturday to Saturday.
When I was little, we stayed on 3rd St which was perfect because it was close to the boards and we didn't have a far walk to the beach. Now we stay up at 40th which I love as well because it's quiet and very easy to relax and enjoy the beach.
Here is a good realtor to check out:
