You guys were so helpful with my last project, I just had to enlist your help again!
So I volunteered to make locker decorations for a high school show choir. It's a long running tradition, usually a little something that the parents make, and each kid gets one on their locker before each competition. It's hard to explain, but it's simple. Usually they are about a half sheet of 8.5x11" paper with their name and some type of "good luck", "win @ whatever comp" type of thing and colorful.
I am doing them for an all girls' group so they can be girly. I am definitely over thinking this, but I know that this group always gets overlooked and never gets the parent support they need (hence I, no longer having any ties to the school, am doing this) so I just want to do something really cool for them and make their days. Their show is love themed and they are singing "Reach, Little Shop of Horrors, I wanna know what love is... " Not even sure what these songs are actually, so I'll have to look them up.
Usually these things are just construction paper and glitter glue, but I was thinking of trying to do something with fabric and actually attaching magnets (vs. tape) so they can keep them all year. Nothing too heavy though, because I'll have to ship them to the school.
Waay too long, sorry! Any thoughts?
Re: Help me brainstorm? HS locker decorations...
that's really nice of you! I was thinking about the magnet idea and you could make some very easily - I saw a friend had done this by taking the clear glass bead/rock things (flat on one side), gluing an image to the flat side 'face down' and then gluing a magnet to that same side. You could do hearts and music notes or something. If I did that, then I would do something less ambitious for the sign though, unless you have lots of time

I was actually thinking of making the sign itself magnetic, but that's a good idea too! They could keep the magnet and eventually trash the sign.
