Anyone know when standardized testing usually
in? Specifically Kindergarten and 1st grade. I know I could call the schools but figured I would bother you ladies first. I appreciate any comments, I have not posted on this board in forever. Thanks

Re: Anyone know when standardized testing usually
I was referring to the TerraNova2 in grade 2 which is I believe used in other places like DC etc. I am not a teacher though. We use the PSSA in PA and that starts in third grade.
We had no standardized test in K other than an interaction with the teachers prior to start. I cant imagine a standardized test in K which would place a child directly into special ed. But I dont live in NJ anymore so many thats different
I know for sure thy do some type of testing in my district but cannot rember the name, it is the pre something or ever. They do it in fall and spring.
Eta, just found the info, they do p-map in k and 1st and then MAPS in 2-8and start ASK in 3rd. So technically it is assessment and not standardized testing but we might me gone for a few days in Nov so I need to work around testing.
Thanks. I might call them before we schedule and check if they have an idea when the k and 1st grade are tested but it is good to know it can be made up if necessary. They do them until close to the teachers convention and we will probably do our vacation around that since it will mean they miss less days.
