HELP! Valentine's Day Dinner
Ok- tall order here... I want to make something really special for dinner tonight- a real show stopper! I don't have a ton of time (I'll need to shop after work and then get cooking). I'd like to do something Valentine's themed maybe savory involving chocolate or a play with red wine... any ideas?
Re: HELP! Valentine's Day Dinner
we are saving our v-day dinner for Thurs....but we are having crab legs and probably garlic smashed pots and roasted asparagus. We don't have this much anymore since DS now LOVES crab and eats a ton!
And I will make a mini-lemon raspberry cheesecake. I don't think this ismuch of a show stopper.....but it is one of DH's favorite!
Are there any of your DH's favorites that you don't have very often that you could fancy up a bit?
DH also loves lobster....but of course we rarely have that. But once I did make lobster crepes, those were quite tasty. Or a take on lobster thermador in a cream sauce over steak.
For a chocolate dessert, I really like Gale Gand's 'Hot chocolate tarts'. I half the recipe since I have only made them for DH and I. and I replace the bittersweet choc with semi-sweet.
This is my Merlot London Broil
The recipe said to marinate overnight, but I rarely do that. The sauce is really what makes it, and its pretty easy and quick to cook. But the flavors are really really good. My DH went crazy for this when I made it.
