Crock pot question!

I'm planning on making this recipe for a dinner party this weekend.  I need to double it.  I usually make it in my 3.5 qt crockpot and cook it for 5.5 hours on low.  Since I'm doubling, I'm going to use my 7 qt crockpot.  Should I increase the time at all?  TIA!

P.S. It does say that if you use a bigger crockpot, it cooks faster, but that's without doubling the recipe.

Re: Crock pot question!

  • I think it would still be fine to cook on low for 5.5 or 6 hours.

  • I'm sort of hit or miss with my crockpot so take this as you will. Generally if I'm doubling or halving the liquids as well (so the entire recipe is in the same ratios) then I keep cook time the same. But you could always check it a little earlier and see how it's doing.
