I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a fall half? When I say fall, I mean November-ish. I thought you had done one of them, plus I'm having trouble coming up with a list on any website.  I'm thinking about beauty and the beach, but might set my sights a little higher.

Hey brenna! I haven't been posting much since they announced they are closely monitoring our internet usage, so im on my  phone.

 philly is usually the weekend before thanskgiving, its a half and full. every year i consider it, and then decide im too lazy to make the drive lol thats the only one i know of though..its a shame, november is perfect running weather. yay that youre getting back out there.

I hear you on the internet use. I won't be on much at all once I go back to work because they changed things a lot right before I went on leave.

So philly is one of the only ones?  It's not too far for me, and now that I look at it, the fee is pretty reasonable.  I'll have to consider that or maybe just the navesink challenge.  I forgot about that one until a little while ago.  I know I won't be able to make an october race but I'm going to at least try for november!

Yeah philly is the only novmeber half ive found within a reasonable driveable distance to me. i know the half sold out last year too. but not the full.  its so annyoing, id love a november/early dec half. nasasink is right after thanksgiving, right?

Yes, it's thanksgiving weekend, saturday I believe.  So it looks like beauty and the beach 5 miler, run the bridge 10k, born to run 5 miler, and the navesink 15k are the alternatives to philly.  Registration opens for philly april 1, and I'm not sure how I feel about commiting at that point if that's what it takes to get in.

im pretty sure the half filled up some time in the fall.  not that id bet on it, but you could probably wait until summer to decide.

there's also the swamp devil 15k (in basking ridge), it's late october (though this year it was postponed to early december b/c of that freak snow storm), that's a little far for you, right?

the last couple of novembers ive done mostly shorter, local races.  id really love to do a half, the weather is so perfect.  although, since im doing another marathon, i dont want to risk not being fully recovered. by thanksgiving i was ok to do a 5 miler, but a half a few weeks earlier might be a little rough.  one of these days ill do philly.

oh and RNR Philly is late september, i believe.
