Honestly I wouldn't recommend this. As annoying as it is, it's good for her to keep tabs on him and how he's escalating. This way she'll also have any evidence should it become necessary.

You don't think she has enough evidence already? I mean he has done this several times before...she can prove it and then she can show that she finally changed her number.

  • really, just block his number. It's so easy.

  • I've had my phone number and email address for 10 years and everything in my entire life is tied to them in some way. It would be a nightmare to try to change them. And I'm certainly not caving in and letting him know he's got that power over me. As long as its just texts and emails, I can ignore them.

I would block his number and then filter his emails, so you have proof of the emails he has sent.

  • How do I do that? I have yahoo and an iPhone. I'm technologically stupid, lol

For the phone it's through your service provider. AT&T charges $5 a month and you can call to set it up. Free with Verizon and its online under your privacy for your account I believe. Or just google it or search on the vzw website.

Email should be under privacy setting. You create a filter for his address. You can also google how to filter emails for yahoo for better directions.

I think she has plenty of evidence, but she still won't be able to see if he's escalating, which I think is pretty important. Honestly I'd want to know what my stalker is sending to me. It's annoying, but if it starts to get threats about physical, etc., she should know.

  • If you've repeatedly told him to leave you alone, file a police report.
  • A police report for someone texting you sounds a bit extreme to me.

From personal experience, the police won't do much without there being a specific physical threat.  I had a woman (XBF's XW) texting me 30+ times a day, threatening to ruin my life etc.  The police told me that unless she said something like "I'm going to kill you" or "I'm going to beat you to a pulp" that they couldn't do anything at all.  No chance of a restraining order, nothing.
