French Fry cutter?

Turns out they don't have them in store anywhere around here, so it will be a "here's the picture of what I got you!" Valentine's day.  Now I can order one, so does anyone have one they love and can recommend?

please also include how you can buy a french fry cutter and not gain 100 lbs.  TIA.

This is so not what I wanted to hear.  Carry on :)

  • I have a mandoline that I use to cut fries (as well as slices, waffle slices, and other veggies that I want/need a uniform slice on).  I just got mine at BBB - think it's oxo brand.

growing up we had something like this:

  • I have a mandolin that can cut fries, from crate & barrel. Plus it also cuts potatos, onions, and other veggies thin. I always try to purchase items that are multi-purpose, plus you can purchasevthen in stores.
  • Also, if you have a food processor, they also have an attachment that cuts fries. At least my cuisinart has that attachment.
  • Restaurant supply store.  There's Standard Restaurant Supply where you don't need a membership and Restaurant Depot where you do.  If RD has one, let me know and I can pick it up for you.

I believe that I've seen one there but believe it was a wall-mounted version which may be a little industrial for the home. I bet standard would have one though. They seem to have a lot more smallwares than RD. http://www.standardrestaurant.com/ecom/app/searchSearch.action
