In ground pet waste system
Does anyone have the inground pet waste system? We adopted a puppy 1 1/2 weeks ago and I feel like there is dog poop everywhere already! He came from Tennessee and was underweight. They are guessing he is a mastiff/great pyrenees mix so he's a big guy and we are feeding him 6 cups a day to put weight on him so he poops about 6 times a day! My husband seems to think we can throw the poop in the small wooded area in the back corner of our yard, I kinda think that will be gross in the summertime! So i'm considering getting one of these waste systems (kind of like a pet septic system) but am wondering how well they work, if they require a lot of maintenance etc. Thanks!
Re: In ground pet waste system
Check into the requirements necessary for one.
If I remember correctly, one of the requirements is that the ground they are in can't freeze, and if you are in Massachusetts, that is not going to work for you.
You can also check with your local waste water resource and see if you can flush the poop.
We try to scoop our yard daily because it does accumulate so much.
Also, what are you feeding your pooch? Feeding a higher quality food will help reduce the amount you feed, and therefore, reduce the amount he is eliminating.
