Anyone on Glyburide while Pregnant?

No, I'm not pregnant, but just doing some research as I know I'll definitely have GD again if/when I do.  I'm hearing Glyburide is now widely used instead of insulin, which is surprising, b/c my last endocronolist would only prescribe insulin for me.  Just curious if you are on this drug, or heard anything about it and being safe for pregnancy.  Thanks!

I was. My high risk only used insulin as a last resort if you can't control your numbers at all. I was only on one or 2 mg. I only needed very little. The only thing that sucks about it (but would apply to insulin as well) is that G had an automatic trip to the NICU (my hospital does this with all babies on any type of medication).

I haven't ever been on Glyburide but have heard it's pretty commonly used during pregnancy.

With my first PG I was on hospital bedrest and was marginal for GD.  They put me on a minimal dose of Glyburide to keep my numbers down.  I know it is safe, but I hated how it made me feel.  Good luck.
