Anyone use this site? I just joined tonight, and I'll be checking it out over the next couple days. Anything I can use to help me lose weight for my sister's wedding in June is a good thing.
Thoughts? Preferences? Stuff to check out?
Re: SparkPeople?
B.A. (before Ava and well Allison when I was dieting/watching what I ate) I loved it. They have inputted so many common things in the food categories so even if you do go out to eat you'll most likely be able to search for it and include those calories/fat intake in your total.
I love water so it's never been a huge issue for me to drink what I need to but I found it to be a great tool everytime I was finished or ever 2-3 glasses to update that and see my tank fill up for the day.
They do have some pretty good recipes too...granted to bland for us down here so I would always add some seasonings but they had some work out things too that you could get on and then input what other exercise you do and track your weight loss.
Especially since it's free it's the best free site I've found oh and they do have a great community! So you could get folks to be rooting for you even if they don't live in your area but you may really find some folks to help keep you motivated locally.
Feel free to look me up if you want. Starrgazerlily
I haven't really used spark people so I can't speak to them. I love the bar code scanner on myfitnesspal. I just had refried beans, cheese, green chilies and greek yogurt for lunch. Each items bar code scanned and I was quickly able to add it to my diary.
2 things bother me though. The serving sizes through me for a loop sometimes. A lot of times I'm only using 1 or 2 tbls of something and it wants me to put the serving size in cup increments. Takes a little bit of math on my part.
The second thing is I don't like the way your daily for diary is shown on the mobile app. It only shows the calories for each item. I dont care about the calories I need to know how much protein I'm getting. You can click on the item and it will show you, but its not at a quick glance.
