Critique my menu!

Hi Ladies!  I am looking for some advice.  We are having my son's 2nd birthday party this weekend and I need your expertise.  There will be about 20 adults and 11 kids (most under the age of 7).

Here is what I am thinking of making:

2 batches of Chili

2 batches of Pulled Pork (between 4 - 5 lbs total)

2 batches of Italian Pasta Salad (requested by family)

3 bags of dorito's chips

Fruit Platter (Berries)

I have never cooked for this large of a group.  Does this seem like enough food? Thoughts on the menu?

TIA!

Re: Critique my menu!

  • I assume you'll have rolls for the pulled pork and toppings for the chili? I think it sounds like enough.  Rather than three bags of Doritos I might get a big bag or plain chips or pretzels and a veggie tray with some dip unless there's a ton of veggies in the pasta salad.
  • I would add corn bread as a side for chili and pulled pork.

Also, I would skip the doritos and do pita chips and pretzels,

I would also add a veggie and dip.

  • Cheese and sour cream for chili toppers

maybe a cole slaw for the pulled pork

    and definitely a veggie platter....

Yes!  I do have rolls for the pork and cheese and sour cream for the chili!   There are some veggies in the pasta, but not a ton.

Thanks for all the great advice!

  • i'd add a green salad for the meal as well. chili, pulled pork and pasta salad are all heavy.

i'd pull the 3 bags of doritos and replace iwth a combo of veggies, pita chips, other chips, dips and spreads, cheese etc...
