the worst TIP, I think I've ever seen.

I would quit if I worked for either of these companies, and handled complaints.

Re: the worst TIP, I think I've ever seen.

  • This doesn't surprise me after all the stuff I've read this week on posts and the interwebs, but it is sad.
  • I have done customer service for 1800flowers before.  It was a nightmare. Proflowers was not much better.  Yikes!
  • Wow, thats pretty bad. I mean, how do they bounce back after that?

Just another reason for people to just use a local florist.

And with that, as much as I like the fun involved with Valentine's Day, I think its a damn shame just how much people get ripped off for flowers on this day, ya know?

    Crazy.

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)
  • this sums it up:

One unhappy customer told us his Valentine's Day flower order hadn't arrived, and when he complained he got an email explaining that, "Due to unexpected high volume, your order has been rescheduled for February 15th." Unexpected? It's *** Valentine's Day, FTD, the biggest day of the year for florists. Blame the weather, blame some computer error, or throw your supplier under the bus, but I'm sorry, unexpected demand is not going to cut it.

  • I accidentally posted this in the MarriedLife thread:

    imagePeanut2202:

    My FTD horror this year...

My mother received a bouquet NOTHING like what I ordered that DIED in less than one day (they were already wilting when they were delivered), and I'm STILL trying to get it resolved to my satisfaction after speaking to 6 different people at FTD (including supervisors).....over 3 hours of phone time between the 13th and yesterday (they delivered her bouquet a whole day early even though I paid extra for the Vday delivery)...

    I ordered this bouquet:

    image

the biggest and best option you could order...cost me almost $100 dollars...

and my mom got 5 yellow roses and some pink tulips....that's it....the arrangement was an embarrassment...it literally looked like someone let their 5 year old kid put it together.  I didnt even order tulips or anything pink in the original order.  FTD agreed that the substitution policy didn't even remotely apply to my situation since it was totally different than what it should have been.

FTD promised the bouquet would be picked up and replaced yesterday, but the local florist that FTD put my order through to never did that...instead, they just marked in their system yesterday that it was all taken care of.  Their phone has been disconnected for the last 24 hours....how do I know this?  I've tried calling several times, and 5 people from FTD called yesterday each time I called them to complain, and they ran into the same issue.

I will never order from FTD again even if they resolve my issue the way they have promised to.

Here's a link to the feedback about the local florist FTD used for my order:

Notice how many complaints posted there were done so just in the last week.

Why would FTD use a local florist that is obviously a scamming company?

    Seriously..

  • Peanut - that sucks!
  • Any flowers from those long distance florists arrive looking bedraggled, and that's to put it politely.

Moral to the story: Use a local florist to send flowers to the recipient. Contact one in the same town to deliver in the same town.

(the best florist I've found is a little hole in the wall outfit about 3 miles from here. And their prices are reasonable, too. I got a dish garden from them 3 years ago for $20...and the dish garden is still going strong)

    This and this and this!!!!

Why anyone thinks they are going to get a better deal, better product or better service by using a third party internet/800 number is beyond me.  Build relationships with actual bricks and mortar stores and the people inside them!

for what it's worth...FTD uses local florists...the flowers my mother got came from down the street not from another state.

I didn't think I would get a better product...I actually always use local florists and this was the first time I used FTD.  I won't ever do it again.

  • My husband sometimes sends my flowers through those companies while he is out of the town, and we haven't had any problems. This is disappointing to hear.
  • Twitter is slow on my computer so I'm only reading facebook. HILARIOUS. I mean, sad that people got ripped off but hilarious that the company is crashing and burning through all of this.
