To have your dog neutered? The vet told me $225 and I'm wondering if this is the typical cost.
Re: How much did it cost....
Call your local humane society.
ditto check the humane society. Also if you got your dog from the pound or a shelter some vets might do a package. We adopted our Husky from the pound and our vet had a package where she got all her puppy shots and fixed for $186.
B/w 1/8: betas 17,345, progesterone 25.6
About this as well. I know in our area they do a spay day where you can get it cheaper, and there is also a program that will fix pit bulls for free during a specific time/date.
Our vet is a little more expensive but worth every penny. I do think you get what you pay for, but I do know Max's mom was fixed (yeah!) and her's was almost free and she had no issues and healed up great. I would just check it out beforehand like I would with any vet.
Our vet quoted us $450, but we took her to the humane society and they charged $135.
Not trying to sound mean, but I wouldn't take the spay quotes that have been posted into consideration. Spaying always costs more than neutering because it's a more invasive procedure.
Just over $200 doesn't sound bad, especially if they do pre-op bloodwork, monitor them after the procedure and provide pain meds for home.
Have you seen my monkey?
