Re: Refinishing wood floors?
last year we used
AG Floors, Inc.11608 Boiling Brook ParkwayRockville, MD 20852301 9847469 Fax 301 984 1020 www.agfloors.com
and our floors came out great!
a few things to keep in mind 1) you may not be able to sleep in your house for a few days. the stain SMELLS BAD. as in bad fumes throughout the house. it eventually wears off but wow thefirst two days we were very glad we went elsewhere.
2) there will be dust EVERYWHERE. we put plastic on a lot of things and moved a lot but wow. i still find random places were saw dust landed that i would not have even thought to clean!
We used Beaulieu Floors and LOVED them. THey were recommended to me by another Nestie.

Definately agree with MrsSstrug's comments!
We also used AG Floors and were happy with their price and work. We did it before we moved into a house, so it was empty... and even that way, the dust was unbelievable!!
ALL of this. We used the same company 2 years ago and I have all the same feedback as Strug. Even if you don't get stain, the sealer smells to high heaven. We stayed with our neighbors for 2 days and even when we got back in it still smelled for days. They'll want you to stay off the floors for a good day or two after while they "cure". Leave your windows open as much as possible during that time.
The only other thing I recommend is get more coats of sealer than is standard. We have some scratches in our floors (mostly from road grit that gets tracked in on shoes and then dragged across the floor) and I wish we had done more coating to protect it more. (Dog paws don't seem to have damaged at all, just dirt, etc.)
we had them come out too and they were really great too. AG came in just a little cheaper but i would give beaulieu call too.
