Anyone else's kids get up w/ the sun?

As it gets lighter earlier each morning, Grace keeps waking up a bit earlier each day.  I don't think it's a coincidence.  Has anyone put a room darkening curtain over the window and had that help?  I can't be getting up at 5:30 on my days off.

We got shades and yes, it has helped immensely.  I even want to go a step further and get the curtains, too.  The shades only block out so much, but it's still significantly darker.

My son can be up anywhere from 4 - 9 a.m.  Room darkening shades or not.

James is up at 5:30 every morning.  I use room darkening shades but it doesn't work in getting him to sleep late   BUT, I won't go in.  It took a little while to train him to lay there, but our day doesn't start until after 6.  Now he either goes back to sleep or chit chats with himself.

my kids are both early risers.  always have been.  i never tried the blackout shades but it's worth a shot.  trevor used to get up at 4:30 when he was chloe's age.  it was a rough period of time but he grew out of it and now he's up around 6-6:30.  not great but it's normal around here.

Genevieve is a very early riser, but so was Josie for a looooong time. It's just recently that J started sleeping past 7. What time do you put her to bed?

Yep Caleb is. He's up anywhere between 5-6 most mornings. The kids share a room so it sucks for B. But she usually sleeps till 6:30 when he's not being too loud. Their room is a complete cave. Blackout shades and curtains. Its all B has ever been used to but I def think it helped a little when it was just Calebs room. 

They're so cheap, like $4 at Walmart, it can't hurt to try. The ones we have just stick to the molding of the window so its easily removed if you find its not working or you dont like it.

Nope-before the sun .  My son gets up anywhere from 5 to 6 (rarely as late as 6).  Sometimes I'm able to get him back to sleep by nursing and rocking, but unfortunately, by that time, my daughter is up.  Argh.

I could put her to bed at 7 or 9 and she will STILL be up when it gets light.  I'm terrified of the time change LOL

Blackout shades did the trick for me. I got them when he was an infant
