Today is a great day!

I'm so excited! First of all, we are going to pick up our dachshund from the rescue at 6!! Woohoo! Here is her profile.

And also in the NPR world, I found out today that changing my son's last name (he has my maiden name now and we are changing it to our family name...I married his birth father-long story) is going to be a breeze! I was told before I'd have to petition the court and all this crap which I could never understand since I did marry his dad but it turns out we just need to go to the health department with our drivers licenses and our marriage certificate! And $42 later, he'll have a changed name! Great day today!

  • Yay on both counts!  Can't wait to see more pictures of your new pup.  Are you keeping her name?
  • Not sure. On the rescue's webpage, it says that for the microchip we can't take away the name given but we can add a name to it. I kind of like Isabella and call her Bella or Izzy. I kind of want to see her personality more though. We'll see. It's a 2 1/2 hour ride to go get her (each way) and we'll probably talk to the kids about it on the way. DD wants to name her Pudding like the cow from Bubble Guppies ;)
  • Congrats! She looks a lot like my mom's mini doxie.

  • Awwwwwww.....She is a cutie! I love long haired dachshunds!

And don't you love easy paper work! Especially if you thought it was going to be time consuming!

  • The rescue called me a little bit ago and said that someone that was approved before me is going at 3 to look at Whitney. It makes me a little sad/mad since I've been saying since Monday that that's the one we want but I understand that the other person was approved first. Hopefully the other person will find another one that she wants Wink
