What are you reading?

I am plowing through so many Kindle books via the library

I finished most of Jonathan Tropper thanks to AmyRob

I need some more for my wishlist since sometimes I have to wait a few weeks for them

Any good reads lately?

Re: What are you reading?

  • do you own a kindle? and are you amazon prime? if so you can borrow books via amazon - no wait - for free... but you have to own and be prime.

I just started the Hunger Games and like it a lot... i just need more time to read!

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • I'm still reading Firefly Lane... however before that I read the Devil Colony by James Rollins... It's a Sigma Force novel which is more my DH's genre but, I was entertained so it might be nice for a change :)

  • Just finished The Lost Wife, it was amazing
  • I'm reading Dragonfly in Amber.  It's #2 of the Outlander Series by Diana Gaboldon and OH.MY.GOD.  Outlander was the best book I've read ever!  It's historical fiction, set in 18th century Scotland.  The love story is comparable to nothing i've read. The books are huge, but worth every page.
  • We're reading Heaven is For Real for book club this month.  I haven't started it yet.

My friend finished I hope they serve beer in Hell and really liked it.

  • The Bronze Horseman by Paulina Simons. So far, so good. It's 857 pages, though. Quite a commitment!

I have heard a lot of buzz around this book and there is no one on the waitlist. Adding it to my Kindle now thanks!

896 PAGES!!! Good thing I cant see how fat this book is, or have to carry it around :)

  • I'm 1/2 way through The Marriage Plot. I like it...it's just wordy.

Rules of Civility is up next.

I just found out my library does Kindle lending so I'm all about that. I've got 18 books I've marked as "To Read" on goodreads, lol.

  • Thanks for all the great suggestions!

Keep them coming, my list is getting quite long

  • Wait, did you get outlander or dragonfly in amber?  i thought outlander was only 600something pages?
  • My friend recommended Maze Runner if you liked Hunger Games, She said it had the same kind of feel.  It's also a trilogy.

  • Some good ones that I have read....

    Rules of civility

    Next to love

    The language of flowers

    A walk across the sun

    A secret kept

    The year everything changed

    Still alice

    The underside of joy

  • I am currently reading "The Paris Wife,"which got huge raves here (and elsewhere), but I'm not loving it. It is okay, but it is the kind of book I should be able to read in a day or two - it's taking me weeks - I just can't get into it enough to sit there and read it.

I just finished Stephen King's latest, "11/22/63," and LOVED it. Couldn't put it down. Up next is "Rules of Civility" and "Things We Didn't Say" for my bookclub selections for March. I also have "The Immortal Life of Hennrieta Lacks" and "The Marriage Plot" on que next.

  • If you liked Hunger Games try Divergent by Veronica Roth.  I just finished that one it was really good. It will also be a trilogy but book 2 doesn't come out till May
