Last night, I made these crazy delicious "Country Apple Dumplings" I found on allrecipes. They were SOOOO easy.
I halved the recipe for just me and DH:
1 apple (any kind, but I used a Fuji apple), peeled, cored and sliced in eighths.
Wrap each apple slice with a crescent roll.
Melt one stick of butter, then mix with 3/4 cup sugar, some cinnamon and nutmeg (I nuked this mixture for about a minute, then whisked like crazy to combine).
Pour sugar/butter mixture over "dumplings", then pour half a can of citrus soda (I used ginger ale, all I had on hand. I think the actual recipe calls for Mountain Dew).
Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes until tops of dumplings are golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. YUM!
