Baltimore hotel recs?

I am planning a trip in April to Baltimore for a Thomas the Train Day Out with my 2 yro DS and am looking for any hotel recs or warnings. I haven't been to Baltimore recently, last time we were about 4 blocks from the Inner Harbor and it was a bit scary walking to/from the Inner Harbor attractions. Any recs? TIA!

Re: Baltimore hotel recs?

  • We go every couple months and always stay at the Sheraton. It's right in the inner Harbor, the prices are reasonable and it's within walking distance to practically everything.

We've stayed a few different ones until we stayed at the Sheraton. That one was the most affordable and in the center of everything. Never had a complaint and I've stayed there like 5x.

  • We stayed at the Residence Inn and it was great. Staff was very helpful and the breakfast was nice. Room was huge!
  • I can tell you to NOT stay at Brookshire Inner Harbor, if that helps.

  • We've stayed at the Intercontinental and the Renaissance. Both are right in the Inner Harbor and both were really nice. You can't beat the location of the Renaissance though, literally right across the street from everything.

  • I liked the Residence Inn. We stayed there last year for a weekend. With a young child, having the extra space and a kitchenette was really helpful. It was only a few blocks to Inner Harbor and not through anywhere scary, rates were very reasonable, and breakfast was included.

  • What do you want to spend?  We stayed in the Hyatt right in the Inner Harbor with DS just after he turned 2. The rates weren't awful but being right there made it a bit pricier than others. We had a blast.

And if you can, while you're there, check out Port Discovery kids museum. It's really cool.
